General Indoor Tanning Tips:
Using indoor tanning lotion can increase the effectiveness of each session by 42% over using no lotion at all.
The use of a good accelerator actually enhances and stimulates the body's natural tanning process. Accelerators and tan enhancers lay the foundation for building a rich, healthy tan.
Using a skin moisturizer, after tanning or taking a shower or bath, will keep your skin soft and moist. This will also help to make your tan last longer.
The use of a good moisturizer is another vital step towards keeping your tan looking its best. Moisturizers basically serve one purpose, to replenish the skin that has been dried. They also help keep peeling and flaking to a minimum and keep the skin moist and healthy.
Please do not use outdoor tanning lotions in tanning equipment. Outdoor lotions cause damage to the acrylics and actually inhibit tanning rays from reaching the skin's surface thus, reducing the skins ability to tan. Outdoor tanning lotions are prohibited at Orange Point Tanning Studio.
Always follow your skin care professional's instructions on the correct way to tan.
Avoid over-exposure. Repeated over-exposure causes the skin to burn and reduces the skins ability to tan properly. Skin burn does not turn into a tan!
Clean skin tans the most effectively.
Always use eye protection. Failure to use protective eyewear may result in severe burns or long-term injury to the eyes.
Never use an indoor accelerator outdoors. Indoor tanning lotions do not contain SPF's and many are much more powerful than outdoor lotions. You may get severe burns when using an indoor tanning lotion outside in natural sun. We carry a wide variety of indoor tanning lotions at Orange Point Tanning Studio
When tanning outdoors, use an accelerator or tan enhancer with a good SPF. As a rule, the more fair-skinned you are, the higher the SPF. Re-apply often, especially after any water contact.
Building a good tan takes time. Again, avoid over-exposure at all costs. If your skin does burn, do not tan again until your skin has completely healed.
Do not exceed more than three sessions per week. Anything more than three sessions per week can result in over-exposure.
After exposure to Ultra-Violet rays, your tan will continue to develop. Do not increase session frequency or go "outdoor tanning" on the same day, this will reduce your risk of overexposure and getting a sun burn.
You can improve your body's natural defences against overexposure and reduce your risk of sun burn outdoors by first getting a base tan with indoor tanning... at Orange Point Tanning Studio!
